Statement of Solidarity with Wet'suwet'en

Dear Premier Horgan and Prime Minister Trudeau,

We are writing because we are appalled at the violence being unleashed on the Wet’suwet’en people who are living on their traditional unceded lands and attempting to protect them from the destruction caused by an unwanted gas pipeline through their territory.

In our view the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) which your government has adopted clearly states that consent must be given for resource projects on indigenous lands.  The Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs do not consent.

I hope you will make sure your policies support the development of healthy sustainable economies today and a healthy planet for our grandchildren tomorrow.

Sample Letter 2015 04 01- Time To Talk Solutions

Dear MP

The Ontario Climate Change Consultation process is a fine example of how we need to be addressing climate change issues in Canada. We need immediate actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and long-term actions to integrate sound energy policies with all other aspects of the Canadian economy. We need to engage every sector of our economy in finding the new technological solutions to move us forward – from construction and…
