On Saturday, September 20, tens of thousands of people across Canada are expected to join Draw the Line, a national day of action to stand up for people, for peace, and for the planet. It coincides with an international week of action calling for climate and economic justice around the world.
Draw the Line Canada is being led by more than a dozen environment, peace, and social justice organizations, and is endorsed by ClimateFast, along with dozens of other local environmental groups.
Parliament resumes September 15 and the federal budget is expected in October. Now is the time to send a clear message to Prime Minister Carney that we are united from coast-to-coast-to-coast, and we demand a just and equitable future for all of us. We will not stand by while our government continues to fuel climate chaos, trample Indigenous rights, and allow corporate elites to get richer on the backs of the rest of us.
We invite you to join us in Toronto (if you’re not in Toronto, look up the map of events in other parts of the country):
- Let us know that you’ll march with us – email newsletter@climatefast.ca
- Meet up at 1:45 pm at Bay and Dundas (o/s Canadian Tire)
- Look for the ClimateFast banner
- Wrap up the march at Queen’s Park; there will be speakers, music, and tables by various organizations (including ClimateFast)
You don’t want to miss this! This is the critical moment to push for real solutions rooted in justice and democracy. Hope to see you there! |
